Is Politics Becoming Equal?
When it comes to absolutely any talk about womens equality, I am 100 percent for it. The problem is that equality in value is not necessarily the same as 'equality' in role. I believe that there are areas of life that just do not seem to sit right when it comes to different roles. For the purpose of avoiding controvacy, I will not go into them now, but surely to leave the role of women out of any sort of politics is to miss out on a valuable view and side of society?
Government used to be an area of life that was absolutely exclusive to men. Women were not welcomed into any discussion or opinion sharing. One of the best known political 'interferences' by a woman was the lady Godiva. I do not know the exact details, but it does seem that she was certainly able to get her message across - albeit in a slightly unconventional method!
Some would argue that having Margerate Thatcher as the Prime Minister was an absolute disaster. I was really too young to appreciate what was going on at the time, but most of the press that has survived, of at least been continued to be spread today is generally from a negative kind of perspective.
